The Hill Country Preservation Coalition is committed to ensuring that the Howard Solstice transmission line is not routed across the heart of some of Texas’s most iconic river basins, including the Devils, Pecos, Nueces, Frio, Sabinal and Medina, and that it instead follows existing major transportation corridors (highways and roadways), to minimize ecological damage and fragmentation of the Texas Hill Country.

Real County

My business depends on tourism and animal migration patterns. I also have land that would be directly impacted by the line resulting in a huge decrease in value.

Uvalde County

Line 59 will travel directly in front of my property, my business which is a campground that has been designated “Best Dark Sky campground” on hipcamp.com for the state of Texas. This transmission line will change our dark skies and our quiet campground.

Edwards County

This power line shows it crossing thru the middle of our ranch which impacts our view and value of our property.

Real County

Adding transmission lines through our beautiful hill country, especially lines that do not service our area, are eyesores, spoiling the views that attract people to our area and negatively affect tourism. Our water resources are already dwindling . Bird migration is already being affected. Our dark skies are disappearing. New power plants should be built where power is needed avoiding transmission lines ruining our pristine hill country.

County Resolutions

These counties have voted in the following resolutions in regards to the Howard-Solstice Transmission Line
