Join The Coalition

Members of the Hill Country Preservation Coalition have been working to protect our natural  resources, pristine rivers, our tourist-attracting views and our land-based economy. We continue to work in the best interest of the Hill Country and offer practical considerations against the routing of these high-power lines:
  • Avoid highly sensitive rural, natural and riparian areas in and around pristine rivers including the Medina, Sabinal, Frio, Nueces and Devils River.

  • Avoid land fragmentation of ranches and generational heritage properties.

  • Protect private landowners rights and their land stewardships practices.

  • Justly compensate affected landowners with true Market Value, and limit the power of eminent domain (land condemnation) to use land only when it is absolutely necessary.

1

Tell Your Friends And Neighbors

Discuss the transmission lines issue and how it may affect your community. Encourage them to get informed, stay involved, and to sign onto our coalition.

2

Write A letter to the Editor

It takes only a little time to write a letter to your newspaper editor. We know they won’t publish everything we write, but the more letters they receive on an issue, the more likely they are to publish our op-eds. Here you’ll find letter template to set you on your way.

Contact Your Representatives

Contact your state and local representatives and let them know you want transmission line routes that do the least amount of harm to the Texas Hill Country. Urge them to contact CPS/AEP and request additional time to consider alternative routes that keep the transmission lines out of our beloved river basins.
